Surface Spectral Albedo Product Updated
This example quicklook from the SURFSPECALB value-added product shows the estimated spectral albedo for each of the seven multifilter radiometer channels for the 10-meter tower at ARM’s Southern Great Plains atmospheric observatory on May 1, 2023. In fiscal year 2021, the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) user facility added a seventh channel to its multifilter rotating shadowband…

ARM Finishes Radiometer Upgrades; Related Data Product Updates Underway
Measurements from the multifilter rotating shadowband radiometer (MFRSR), seen here at ARM’s Eastern North Atlantic atmospheric observatory, allow users to infer the atmosphere’s aerosol optical depth at each wavelength. ARM is updating data products to accommodate the addition of a new channel to its MFRSRs. In fiscal year 2021, the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) user…

Updated Surface Spectral Albedo Data Released
This example quicklook from the SURFSPECALB value-added product shows the estimated spectral albedo for the 10- and 25-meter towers at ARM’s Southern Great Plains atmospheric observatory on June 2, 2016. On that date, the surface type for both towers was all vegetation. Updated data from the Surface Spectral Albedo value-added product (SURFSPECALB VAP) are available…

Updated Evaluation Product Available for Calculating Surface Spectral Albedo
An updated version of the Surface Spectral Albedo (SurfSpecAlb1Mlawer) value-added product (VAP) has been released as an Evaluation Product for the Southern Great Plains (SGP) site. The original version of the algorithm created a near-continuous best estimate of broadband and narrowband downwelling irradiance, upwelling irradiances, and surface albedo using the multi-filter radiometers (MFRs) on the…
