Argonne National Laboratory seeks a distinguished scientist to lead a major expansion in its research and modeling efforts in computational climate science, with a focus on developing the scientific and technological capabilities required for regional climate prediction. The selected candidate will lead the development of Argonne’s research efforts in computational climate science in the areas of ecology, biosphere, data assimilation, and/or validation. As the laboratory’s primary representative on climate change science, this person is expected to promote Argonne’s visibility in the climate sciences and develop collaborative strategies using innovative computational methods and some of the world’s most powerful high-performance computing resources.
