The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) is seeking an Associate Scientist for their Research Applications Laboratory (RAL). The Associate Scientist conducts testing and evaluation of Numerical Weather Prediction capabilities, including data assimilation and/or hurricane systems/techniques applied in real-world applications in support of Data Assimilation Testbed Center and Developmental Testbed Center activities at NCAR/RAL/Joint Numerical Testbed (JNT). Required skills include knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as Fortran and PERL, the ability to diagnose and solve problems related to the applications of JNT T&E systems, and a demonstrated understanding of numerical weather prediction.
