Seeking Southern Great Plains Site Manager

ARM Southern Great Plains site Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a Site Manager for the ARM Southern Great Plains (SGP) site in Oklahoma and Kansas. The Site Manager is responsible for the overall operation of a DOE national user facility site, including overseeing subcontracts; developing operating budgets; producing cost estimates for users conducting research experiments at SGP; evaluating SGP facilities; producing designs for improvements and implementation of changes; coordinating spares, calibrations, and repairs of instrumentation; and preparing reports to the ARM Technical Director and ARM Operations Manager.

The SGP site is the first and largest of the ARM sites, featuring a heavily instrumented Central Facility in Lamont, Oklahoma, and other instrument clusters located throughout its domain. It also serves as the instrument calibration center and spare parts hub for the entire user facility.

Applicants must have: comprehensive management experience; considerable knowledge of atmospheric sciences and facility operation, communications skills, and project planning and tracking; and good experience with remote-sensing techniques, field experiments and data analysis, and scientific publications and proposals.
