Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is currently seeking a senior scientist to lead a world-class research group in their Computer Science and Mathematics Division. This position’s responsibilities will include managing the Computational Earth Sciences Group, fostering partnerships with similar research groups, actively seeking external funding opportunities, and overseeing the group budget.
Minimum requirements include a PhD in a scientific discipline with an emphasis in computational methods or equivalent education and experience, 5 years of research experience, and demonstrated experience in leading research and development teams. The successful candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to compose research plans and proposals, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and have works published in scientific peer reviewed journals.
