The Institute of Hydrological and Oceanic Sciences (IHOS) and the Department of Atmospheric Sciences (DAS), National Central University, Taiwan, invite scientists and PhD students to apply for positions with a research group studying the hydrological cycle in East Asia. With over 20 faculty members and excellent research facilities, the IHOS and DAS offer a unique environment to conduct comprehensive research.
The research group aims to identify climate change and low frequency climate variability, as well as understand associated changes of tropical clouds/rain and accompanying hydrological processes in East Asia and neighboring warm oceans. Both observational and modeling analyses are planned to accomplish the goal.
The research group seeks applications in all areas of climate and hydrologic process modeling described above. Complete applications, including a curriculum vitae, copies of recent publications, and a letter including research statement and a list of names and email addresses of three references, should be sent to sui@ncu.edu.tw or C.-H. Sui, Institute of Hydrological Sciences, National Central University, No. 300, Jhongda Rd., Jhongli City, Taoyuan County 32001, Taiwan. Tel: +886-3-4227151#65689; +886-3-4222445, Fax: +886-3-4222894.
Applications will be reviewed as received, and the positions are kept open until filled. Positions are available immediately, but the starting time is flexible. Potential candidates may be hired as research assistants (for PhD students), postdoctorates, research faculty, or regular faculty depending on qualifications.
