The Environmental Science Division of the Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral candidate with proven experience and interest in regional-scale modeling as well as remote sensing. The candidate will be expected to develop innovative approaches for using data collected by the DOE ARM Program and the second ARM Mobile Facility (AMF2). The AMF2 data collection focuses on developing data sets for climate model evaluation from a variety of locations around the globe.
Preferred candidates should have a modeling background, specifically related to climate models on a regional and global scale, and some experience with instrumentation and analysis of field campaign data sets. Also desired are applicants with a primary interest in developing retrieval algorithms for ground-based remote sensing instrumentation and developing and deploying remote sensing instruments for atmospheric, cloud, and radiative transfer measurements.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in the atmospheric sciences. Applicants should submit a detailed curriculum vitae, with a list of publications, and the names and addresses of three references, to the Argonne Job Search website. The listing can be found under postdoctoral/job openings, requisition number 314299 EVS.
