McGill University has two tenure-track positions available in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences and one joint tenure-track position available between the Department of Atmospheric and Ocean Sciences and the Department of Chemistry.

• An assistant professor is sought for the research area of clouds, aerosols, and climate. The preferred areas of research include, but are not limited to, atmospheric radiation, thermodynamics, aerosol physics, cloud and precipitation processes, or aerosol-cloud-radiation interactions, with a goal to improving climate prediction. A PhD in atmospheric science or a closely related field is required. Candidates with expertise in theory, observation, or modeling will be considered.
• An assistant professor is sought for the research area of climate dynamics. The preferred areas of research should address one or more of a range of topics in the following areas: Climate variability, general circulation dynamics, and atmosphere-ocean general circulation modeling and/or diagnostics. A PhD in atmospheric or oceanic sciences or a closely related field is required.
• An assistant professor is sought for a joint appointment between the Department of Atmospheric and Ocean Sciences and the Department of Chemistry. The preferred areas of research include, but are not limited to, atmospheric chemistry, marine chemistry, climate change, carbon cycles, environmental analytical chemistry, and green chemistry. Applicants should have a PhD and postdoctoral or related experience in atmospheric science, chemistry, chemical oceanography, physics, or a closely related field.

Successful applicants for these positions will be expected to develop an active research program, supervise graduate students, and teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses. The preferred starting date for these positions is September 2013. Review of applications will begin December 1, 2012, and continued until the positions are filled.
