Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is currently seeking a Radar Engineer for the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) Climate Research Facility. ARM sites include a broad array of instrumentation, including radars, lidars, radiometers, and meteorological sensors. The radar engineer will be responsible for performing analysis of radar data to assess the operational status of radars in the ARM radar network and communicating results and recommendations to project managers, other engineers, and scientists on a routine basis.
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or higher with technical expertise and experience in relevant theories, principles, and concepts. Preferred candidates will have a background in:
- Pulse Doppler radar
- Radar signal processing
- Radar meteorology
- Computer hardware/software integration
- System design/integration
- Communications theory
- RF propagation
- Data analysis software (MATLAB, IDL, etc.)
- Linux in a real-time environment
The successful candidate must be willing to travel for up to several weeks at a time. Due to export control issues, U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status is desired.
