Postdoc Position Available with GESTAR Program


The Universities Space Research Association (USRA) is currently seeking an entry-level research scientist for its Goddard Earth Sciences Technology and Research (GESTAR) program. The primary function of this position will be to study surface spectral shortwave radiation problems in a fully 3D cloud environment. This position is full-time for up to three years. Duties will include analyzing ARM data and conducting radiative transfer calculations in order to develop better cloud representations in shortwave radiative transfer models.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Atmospheric Physics or a related field and a strong background in atmospheric radiation. Experience with cloud microphysics and radar retrievals is preferred.
