The Earth Observing Laboratory (EOL) at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado, is currently seeking an associate scientist III to manage a set of complex instruments operated on a research aircraft. Specific instruments will be assigned based on the person’s skill set and background, as well as EOL needs.
This position is full-time, 1-year term, with the possibility of extension. The successful applicant must be a U.S. citizen or meet eligibility requirements listed in the full position description. A B.S. degree in engineering, atmospheric, or related science is needed, and an M.S. degree is desired. Additional requirements include: at least 4 years of experience with airborne and complex instruments, such as sensors for trace gases, remote sensing instruments, or cloud particle and aerosol spectrometers; advanced skills in data analysis, quality control, and interpretation; as well as a working knowledge of UNIX/Linux and MS-Windows systems.
