Although most MC3E instruments operate 24/7, occasionally our MC3E mission scientists and students need a break from the action to explore the surrounding Oklahoma region. Similarly, since MC3E is largely a cloud and precipitation experiment, sometimes the atmosphere does not cooperate. On one particularly clear campaign afternoon, several MC3E-ers took this forecast as a nice opportunity to travel to the downtown Oklahoma City Bricktown district and root for the local Houston Astros Triple-A affiliate RedHawks. A great time was had by all, including 4 free tee-shirts and even a foul ball! Oh… and the RedHawks won the game with style, 4-3, on a walk-off single by pinch hitter Brian Dopirak.
